For computer purchases Cashiers Check, US Postal Money Orders, Visa, Mastercard, Appalachian Express Account and cash are acceptable forms of payment. Out of state checks will not be accepted. In state checks must clear the bank before product can be shipped from the store.

The Computer Shop at the University Bookstore provides you with the computer hardware and software to meet your computing needs during your academic career at Appalachian State University.

In cooperation with Technical Support Services and our relationship with Apple and Dell Computers, the Computer Shop at the University Bookstore offers special pricing with accident protection for most of the hardware and software you will need to use while at Appalachian(Apple Inc does not offer Accident Protection).

A computerorder.PDF form is available for download with instructions for selecting and placing your computer order by phone, fax or mail after you have reviewed the computer models available here on these web pages for Apple and Dell. Please Note if you have Adobe Acrobat Reader only you will not be able to save any information you fill in, you will only be able to print out the information. If you have a full version of Adobe Acrobat you will be able to fill out and save the information in addtiion to printing out the form.

You must be a registered student at the University to take advantage of the special pricing we can offer. Appalachian faculty and staff may also take advantage of this opportunity to purchase hardware and software as offered to the university student.

PLEASE NOTE:

Returns on computer products will be charged a 15% (fifteen percent) restocking fee.
Our computer packages include 3 year warranties, the recommended campus software: Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007 for Windows XP and above, Microsoft Office 2008 for OS X for the Macintosh, as well as a security cable as needed for laptops.
Please note that delivery for laptop computers can take two to four (2-4) weeks. Your Computer orders are welcome at anytime.
If you are an incoming Freshman you want to place an order at least three(3) weeks before your Orientation Date or for Back to School in August for pickup

Student Software Licenses with Substantial Savings:

The University Bookstore will begin offering Student Licenses for some Microsoft Software and Adobe Software for Students Faculty and Staff click here for prices

Please NOTE: you must be a registered student at Appalachian State University to purchase a Microsoft Software License, and sign a Microsoft Licensing Agreement before purchasing the Licensed Software.(Click Here to download the Microsoft Student License Agreement 6.5- fill out, sign and mail or fax the CERTIFICATION sheet in with your software order). If you are ordering a hardware software bundle you can complete the form when come in to pick up the licensed software.

For an Adobe Student License Software you must present a valid student ID to purchase and do follow up registration with Adobe On-Line. See Bookstore staff for purchases.
