A student needs to present an Appalachian ID Card to purchase software. The Bookstore will work with off campus students to certify they are taking an Appalachian course and have valid Appstate email username.
Software licenses are special offers from the company on select products that are provided at a greatly reduced price over the Suggested Retail Price and even the Suggested Academic Price. Please note these licenses for Adobe and Microsoft are not upgradeable. If you wish to have a new version of the software you must make a new purchase when a newer version is available.
Software for personal use
Adobe Software Products are now available to Appalachian students, faculty and staff for personal use.
Microsoft Products are available to Appalachian students, faculty and staff . Microsoft does require a signed Microsoft License Agreement.
Software for academic use
The University also provides both Adobe and Microsoft software for faculty and staff to perform their work at the university and at home through a University owned license. The "at home" Microsoft software for faculty and staff has only a nominal cost. Technical Support Services manages the software licenses for faculty and staff.
